Sulky-Burel extends Isobus to DX spreaders

Already available on the French manufacturer’s larger X series spreaders, the smaller DX models can also be specified with Isobus when equipped with weighing and electrical operation of the hopper outlet shutters. In addition, existing examples of these spreaders can adopt Isobus using an Isolink ‘bridge’ that enables the machines to be on tractors with and without the digital control technology.

Universal terminal control

The Isobus facility makes it possible for the spreader to be operated using Sulky’s Quartz 800 universal terminal or any built-in tractor display or third-party universal terminal listed as being compatible in the AEF ISOBUS online database.

All functions, including GPS-related application rate adjustment, section shut-off and Sulky’s Stop&Go system, which assists at headlands and points in the field to minimise double-dosing, are then accessible through a terminal display with a familiar common layout.

Sulky-Burel’s DX30 spreader comes in 4 sizes from 900 to 2,700 litres (32 to 95 cu ft), while the DX30+ with its heavier-duty frame and headstock, handles larger hoppers with capacities from 1,500 to 3,000 litres (53 to 106 cu ft). Both are capable of spreading materials across 12 m to 36 m (39 ft to 118 ft) working widths.

Larger spreader improvements

The manufacturer’s larger and wider spreading X40+ and X50+ spreaders, which already have Isobus capability, also gain evolutionary improvements.

2 fill level sensors warn when one side of the hopper is almost empty, which can occur when using section control to regulate spreading to one side, and hydraulic disc drive is now available as an alternative to pto drive. This allows the tractor to run with fewer engine revs for greater fuel economy while ensuring consistent spreading discs speed regardless of the field terrain.
