PVT introduces Rhino 4004 Multiset applicator

The Rhino 4004 Multiset spreading and spraying vehicle features dry and liquid application systems that Brazilian manufacturer PVT Agriculture says can be exchanged by two people in around 30 minutes.

This provides the flexibility to operate with a 6cu m lime and single-product fertiliser spreader or the 4000-litre sprayer with little downtime. In addition, adjustable axle leg settings provide high clearance for mature crops but also a stable ride height for earlier season operations, especially on sloping ground, and for road travel.

Rhino 4004 Multiset powerd by six-cylinder MWM diesel engine

The Rhino 4004 Multiset is a high clearance machine powered by a front-mounted six-cylinder MWM diesel engine of 260hp, with a hydrostatic transmission driving portal steering axles front and rear giving all-wheel steer manoeuvrability and wheel tracking. Air suspension supports the vehicle’s 11,200kg operating weight with the spreader on board and 12,200kg with the large capacity spraying outfit.

Hydraulic jacks and locks built into the chassis are operated by a remote control pad to lift whichever equipment set is installed so that parking legs can be inserted, the jacks lowered and the vehicle driven out from underneath to change roles.

PVT’s spreader is constructed in aluminium with a rubber belt conveyor feeding twin spinners capable of spreading fertiliser to 30m, subject to the material characteristics. Hydraulic drive to the belt allows variable speed for automatic ground speed compensation to maintain a consistent application rate.

30-litre capacity drop-down chemical induction system

The 4000-litre sprayer package includes a 30-litre capacity drop-down chemical induction system at the rear, with a remote control pad enabling the operator to regulate engine speed, filling, circulation and chemical fill functions.

Smartfloat suspension for the rear-mounted boom provides manual or EchoPulse automatic height control; the auto system uses sensors with six levels of sensitivity to keep the boom level over rough surfaces and during turns.

Booms available up to 32m wide are carried on parallel linkage providing working heights from 0.5m to 2.4m, and electro-pneumatic valves switch the nine or 15 boom sections. Spray nozzles are spaced at 0.5m and can be illuminated by optional LED lighting for night-time spraying.

Hexagon Agriculture’s Ti7 touch-screen

In the rubber-mounted single-seat cabin, Hexagon Agriculture’s Ti7 touch-screen terminal provides the sprayer and spreader control system, with guidance, auto on/off and section control functionality. A second terminal provides vehicle and sprayer/spreader instrumentation, with touch-screen access to settings and the information displayed.
