Potato Europe: Machine spotting and networking

A new potato harvester by Ropa was the main novelty shown at Potato Europe in Kain, Belgium.

Potato Europe is most and for all a networking event for professionals in the potato industry. Because the Agritechnica show is just around the corner, manufacturers didn’t bring new machines to the show.

Ropa Keiler 2 Classic

One exception was Ropa – they showed a new potato harvester called the Keiler L2 Classic, which is a bit less advanced than the Keiler 2 and about 10 percent cheaper.

AVR Ceres Isobus-ready

Other manufacturers limited themselves to small adjustments. AVR for instance made their Ceres 450 planting machine Isobus-ready. It can however only be controlled via the AVR terminal, not via the tractor terminal.

By making the Ceres Isobus-ready, 7 functions can now be controlled using GPS, instead of just 2. Uploading of maps is now also possible.
