The DLG-Feldtage 2024, a field trade fair for crop professionals, is set to take place from June 11th to 13th in Erwitte near Lippstadt, Germany. This year’s event, themed ‘Crop Production Out of the Box’, promises an array of exciting experiences for attendees, with 77 diverse machine combinations slated for live demonstrations.
Over the course of three days, visitors will have the opportunity to witness a wide range of technical demonstrations across the newly introduced Live Arena and on three designated DLG courses.
The machinery demonstrations will highlight various themes, including weed control with row crop cultivators in cereals and maize, shallow tillage featuring flat cultivators to skim ploughs, and multi-tank seed drills for combined sowing of seeds and fertiliser. Additionally, innovative technologies for chemical crop protection, high-tech mineral fertiliser spreaders, and equipment for lifting, loading, and filling in the field will be showcased.
An exclusive feature of the event will be the field sprayer course located within the Live Arena, where visitors can witness firsthand the challenges encountered in the field and compare different machine functionalities.
Visitors will be also able to visit FarmRobotix, the new DLG platform for robotics, automation and AI in agriculture. It offers growers and experts the opportunity to share knowledge, explore innovative technologies and foster business contacts.

Attendees will have the opportunity to explore a wide array of products on display at the trade fair. One of these products, the volt.apply system, offers versatility across various crops and applications. The crop.zone system comprises volt.apply applicators, which efficiently transfer electrical energy to plants, and the volt.cube, a central unit that controls and distributes power across the working width for a Hybrid Herbicide System.
This integrated system, connected directly to the tractor’s PTO, includes a spray system that increases the conductivity of the plants (volt.fuel). Special applicators pass the current through the plants and, depending on the type of applicator, also through the roots and soil. This interrupts the water supply within the plants to such an extent that the plants dry out and die.

Mechanical weed control is rapidly gaining traction, with automatic cultivators now offering versatile solutions that extend beyond traditional crops like vegetables, encompassing maize and sugar beet cultivation. This surge in mechanical weed management is propelling the development of new hoes and harrows, providing farmers with an array of choices.
One notable innovation is the Chopstar-Prime premium hoeing device, designed for row crops with spacings ranging from 25 to 90 cm, including beets, soybeans, field beans, corn, and sunflowers. At the heart of the Prime is its central quick-locking system, facilitating swift adjustments of all tine carriers to suit specific crops or field conditions.

The device accommodates various attachments such as trailing harrows, finger hoeing stars, rolling stars, and protective elements, ensuring versatility. Additional features like the camera-controlled Row-Guard sliding frame enhance precision, for better control over weed management.
Horsch Maschinen will showcase the Transformer VF, a compact and robust machine renowned for its precision and adaptability in weed control. Equipped with innovative camera technology, the Transformer VF is outstanding in mechanical weed management across a wide range of root crops and row spacings from 15 to 80 cm. Its versatility and efficiency make it an interesting choice for farmers seeking precise and effective weed control solutions.

The event will also feature leading suppliers and manufacturers of robotic solutions such as AgXeed, Kubota, and Digital Workbench. Among the showcased products are also the Tipard 1800 and the Tipard 350 autonomous multi-carrier platforms of Digital Workbench. The Tipard 1800 is an autonomous multi-carrier platform for automating entire process chains from sowing and fertilising to weed and pest control through to harvesting in arable and specialty crops and fruit growing.
In the realm of fertilizer spreaders, manufacturers are continually advancing their equipment towards site-specific application capabilities to meet evolving demands. Through demonstrations featuring seven fertilizer spreaders, attendees can witness the capabilities of modern mineral fertilizer spreaders and the features designed to optimise farming operations.
