Danfoss introduces new 4.3-inch displays

The new Danfoss DM430E Series displays aim to provide OEMs and operators a modern machine interface.

Danfoss Power Solutions expands the PLUS+1 family of mobile machine products with the DM430E Series Display. The new display will provide OEMs and operators a modern machine interface with supreme outdoor screen viewability, an environmentally robust design, simple screen set-up and a range of flexible features.

“We’re excited to provide a modern display solution specifically designed for a rugged, off-highway environment,” said Darren Magner, Director, Product Marketing, Danfoss Power Solutions. “With unparalleled screen viewability in a compact design, the DM430E addresses both OEM and end-user needs at a cost-effective price point.” The DM430E Series Display is specifically developed for material handling, road building, construction, agriculture, turf care and specialty off-highway applications.

Increasing operator efficiency

As the visual interface of the machine, the DM430E Series Display aims to help OEMs modernize the overall operating experience while also increasing operator efficiency – all without compromising on the need for durable performance in extreme operating environments, according to Danfoss.

“The optically-bonded and anti-glare coated 4.3-inch color display is optimized for usage in all lighting conditions, providing outstanding sunlight viewability and wide viewing angles. In darker settings, the light sensor automatically adjusts screen brightness and switches between day and night display themes,” says Danfoss.

Through the updated Engine Information Center (EIC) application, OEMs can directly set up the display without any programming. The application connects more than 4,000 J1939 engine signals with a set of pre-defined screen graphics, saving development time and resources.

OEMs have the option of a four-button or navigation-button keypad, providing flexibility to optimize to machine requirements. The display can be oriented in portrait or landscape, direct RAM mounting capabilities and the opportunity to add USB and RS232 connectivity features.

Additional core features

OEMs looking to modernize their machine’s cab and improve operator experience will additionally benefit from the following features:

  • Environmentally robust — The display is engineered specifically to survive in a rugged off-highway environment. It meets IP66 and IP67 enclosure ratings and can withstand operating temperatures ranging from -30 to 70 degrees Celsius.
  • PLUS+1 compliant — As a PLUS+1 compliant product, this display can be programmed with easy-to-use screen editing features and a widget library, all done on the latest edition of the PLUS+1 Platform.
  • Streamlined cab design — With the ability to add up to five extra inputs and one output, the DM430E Series Display gives more flexibility and leaner wiring set-up, saving system cost with no I/O module needed.
