The German engine manufacturer Deutz is involved in the collaborative PoWer project, which focuses on developing hydrogen engines for machinery used in agriculture and construction.

The German machinery manufacturer Mahle, a specialist in electric drivetrains, leads the PoWer project and collaborates with partners Claas, Liebherr, Nagel, Unicore, NGK, Castrol, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), and the Braunschweig University of Technology. The German government supports the consortium with a €5.1 million grant.

Hydrogen engine ready for production

The goal of the PoWer project is to develop hydrogen-based drivetrains for machinery and test them in construction and agricultural applications. Deutz already has a production-ready hydrogen engine, the TCG 7.8 H2, which the PoWer project is using to further advance the technology.
