ZSHX Advanced Tractors, a start-up based in Beijing, China, unveiled a production-ready electric tractor this fall at a trade fair in Changsha, China. The tractor is set to debut in Europe in the first quarter of 2025.

According to the German agricultural website Eilbote, ZSHX Advanced Tractors plans to showcase the first e-tractor models in Germany next spring. The electric tractor boasts a 90 hp output and features a 105 kWh battery from the Chinese manufacturer CATL. The battery powers two electric motors: one for driving and the other for PTO and hydraulic functions.

The e-tractor is equipped with four-wheel drive and automatic climate control. Additionally, its functions can be controlled via Isobus. The operating time on a single battery charge is 4 to 5 hours for heavy-duty tasks and 6 to 7 hours for moderate-duty tasks.

Four years to market readiness

ZSHX Advanced Tractors was founded in Beijing by Yongjun Chen (47), a mechanical engineer. The start-up employs 25 engineers and software specialists who brought the e-tractor to production readiness in just four years.

Availability in 2025

The various e-tractor models are currently undergoing testing in China. ZSHX Advanced Tractors plans to present the first models in Germany in spring 2025.
