In 2019, 4,7% of Dutch arable farmers are using drones. Compared to 2018, use of drones has more than doubled.
In 2018 only 1.8% of Dutch arable farmers were using drones, according to AgriDirect. This Dutch agricultural marketing agency asked arable farmers in the Netherlands questions regarding their agricultural activities, their plans for the future and their future investments. Around 1,000 arable farmers answered questions regarding the use of drones.
Not surprisingly, large arable farms are deploying drones more often than smaller farms. 12.3% of the farmers with more than 100 ha use drones. When it comes to farms with 10 to 20 ha, only 1.8% uses drones.
