The Dutch importer of Ag Leader, Hardi and Väderstad already developed various GPS-assisted solutions for amongst others ploughing and box scrapers and has now added Smartbulb to its portfolio. The solutions are marketed and sold on various continents including Australia, Europe and North America.

Smartbulb is compatible with planters equipped with recent ‘Cremer’ sensors that count the number of bulbs planted. The Isobus in cab terminal registers and logs the number of bulbs and shows the result in different colours on the terminal display. Optionally, the planter can be turned on and off via the terminal.

The generated data can be processed in Ag Leader SMS software. It is also possible to plant from prescription maps. Smartbulb is available on new planters as well as on planters that are already in use and compatible with Isobus terminals equipped with Task Controller (TC) functionality including Trimble, Ag Leader, John Deere and Topcon. It can also be combined with Smartsteer implement steering.
