The working principle of the FarmWise Vulcan is derived from the Titan FT-35 automated mechanical weeder that was introduced a few years ago. The single bed implement has a working width of 1.93-2.13 m (76-84 inches). FarmWise won’t share if the weeding tools can reach every (square) millimetre within that working width. The tools can however work as close as 2.5 cm (1 inch) to the crop.
The single bed version travels at 2-3 mph (3.2-4.8 km/h) and can cover up to 1 acre per hour (0.4 ha/h). It can handle 1to 8 line(s) per bed with an interplant spacing of 5-6 inches. The Vulcan has no feedback cameras but does count crops and measures crop size.
