Valley Irrigation introduces RTK-gps for its Valley GPS Guidance solution to improve the reliability of communication with the corner arm and eliminating the need for radios.

Valley GPS Guidance now uses power line carrier (PLC) technology to communicate RTK-gps correction signals to improve the reliability of communication.

Additionally, the built-in terrain compensation provides more accurate steering on steep terrain. The terrain compensation can provide corners with a straighter and more consistent wheel track, resulting in less crop damage.

Designed specifically for irrigation

A corner irrigation machine requires precise steering to extend way out into the corner to maximise irrigated acres and then retract back in to avoid any obstacles. Valley says they went back to the drawing board in order to provide a GPS solution designed specifically for irrigation machine guidance.

Compatible with existing Valley control panels

The new Valley GPS Guidance is compatible with all existing Valley control panels and corner models. It also easily retrofits onto an existing Valley corner with John Deere/NavCom or other solutions with multi- or single-frequency GPS guidance.

Troy Long, Valley Irrigation Senior Director of Product Management: “In the fourth quarter of 2019, we plan to further enhance Valley GPS Guidance by releasing the second generation of the technology, which will provide a next-level, custom-designed digital antenna.”
