The American machinery manufacturer John Deere introduced the largest tractor it has ever built: an 830 hp John Deere articulated tractor.
John Deere is expanding its articulated tractor series with three models: the flagship 9RX 830, and the 9RX 710 and 9RX 770. Under the hood is a six-cylinder Deere JD18X engine with an 18-liter capacity. In the flagship model, it is capable of delivering up to 913 hp and 4,234 Nm of torque.
The same engine is also found in the John Deere forage harvesters 9500, 9600, and 9700. To comply with the Stage V emission standard, the manufacturer does not require AdBlue.
The engine powers a new fully mechanical e21 powershift transmission, with a top speed of 40 km/h. The transmission features 21 forward gears with a small spacing between them. This design allows for the right speed to be used in various tasks, according to John Deere.
The power then goes to four large 76.2 cm wide Camso tracks, driven by 1,200 mm large drive wheels. Each drive wheel grips 7.5 lugs to transfer power to the tracks. The tractor has a weight of 33.5 tons and can be ballasted up to a maximum of 38.1 tons.
The 9RX tractor features advanced smart farming capabilities, including the 32.5 cm (12.8 inch) high-definition G5Plus CommandCenter™ and a full integration of John Deere Precision Ag Technology such as Variable Rate Control, 1-Click-Go-AutoSetup, Section Control and full AEF ISOBUS compatibility. Standard features such as JDLink™ Connectivity, documentation, and DataSync increase overall operating performance. The free John Deere Operations Center™ serves as a central platform to connect machines, operators, and fields, facilitating data import and cooperation with third parties.
