With just one and a half month to go, FIRA USA is approaching rapidly. Let’s have a first look at the highlights the third edition of the event has in store.

Tractor, farm machinery and field and harvest robot manufacturers, farmers, growers and contractors, researchers, startups, students and everyone else interested in ag robotics and automation are gearing up for the premier event from 22 to 24 October this year at the Yolo County Fair in Woodland (California). The third edition of FIRA USA promises to showcase over 130 exhibitors and at least 35 autonomous solutions for farmers and growers.

Apart from demos on hoeing in vegetables, participants will see in-field demos planting, spot spraying, autonomous irrigation, harvesting and transport in various types of crops and orchards.

More in-field demos than ever

Explore the possibilities of automation and robotics for your or your family’s farm by attending the numerous in-field demonstrations and watch robots and autonomous solutions working in real conditions. There are demos on planting, hoeing, crop care and nutrient management, spot spraying, laser weeding, autonomous irrigation, harvesting, yield management and transport in field crops, vegetables, fruit orchards, almond/nut orchards, (straw)berries and vineyards. FIRA USA will also be the centre for drone solutions in agriculture, through the drone pavilion by Monterey Bay DART & HawkTower.

Come and see in-field orchard demos of among others Agtonomy TeleFarmer, Robotics Plus Prospr, Advanced.farm robotic apple harvester, Herbicide GUSS and the Bluewhite Pathfinder. And what about these weeding, laser and spot spraying demos in vegetables such as lettuce, leafy greens and tomatoes: Ecorobotix Ara, FARM-NG Amiga, Naïo Oz and Orio, the Stout Smart Cultivator and Verdant B1 and F1 spot sprayers.

Don’t miss the Sabanto Ag Steward autonomous tractor solution, the SwarmFarm SwarmBot and the Solinftec Solix autonomous field sprayer.

Companies like Bluewhite and Sabanto Ag demonstrate how existing tractors can be made autonomous to operate driverless where possible.

OEM’s and industry experts gather

FIRA USA will bring top industry experts to the stage to share first hand insights and experiences as users of ag robotics. To discuss approaches for accelerating industry growth, provide an overview of the latest developments, and tackle key issues related to regulations and safety of ag robotics and automation.

Interested in how tractor and machinery manufacturers (OEMs) deal with the rapidly changing farm machinery robotic developments and new distribution strategies? Then be sure to mark the panel discussions on this topic in your calendar. Expert panellists will explore the strategic considerations, potential synergies, and hurdles OEMs encounter when pursuing M&A (mergers and acquisitions) with ag robotics startups and advanced technologies for ag robots.

Free admission for growers

For the first time, farmers/growers have free admission to the entire event. Not only because the majority of autonomous solutions and field and harvest robots are dedicated to helping growers produce their crops more efficiently and more profitable. Also because FIRA USA takes place in a region with a lot of different crops.

FIRA USA 2024 is taking place from 22 to 24 October at the Yolo County Fair in Woodland, near Sacramento (California).
