In November 2024, the prestigious Tractor of the Year (TOTY) awards for the 2025 season will be announced. This year introduces a new category for agricultural robots, named TOTYBot, supported by Future Farming. The candidates for this category have now been revealed.

The entire jury convened in Milan at the end of June for the annual selection of the Tractor of the Year award, commonly known as TOTY. This two-day event marks the beginning of the journey towards the TOTY 2025 awards ceremony. Tractor manufacturers presented their candidates to an international jury of 25 professional journalists from 25 different countries. The event was made possible by the support of the Indian tire manufacturer BKT, the main sponsor of TOTY. This year, 17 of the world’s largest tractor manufacturers are competing with a total of 21 tractors in various categories, showcasing their latest innovations and technological advancements.

TOTYBot Category

The TOTYBot category is new and includes autonomous multifunctional robotic tractors. These robots, constructed similarly to standard tractors, can work with current standard machines on a farm. These autonomous tractors lack a cab but feature a standard hitch, PTO, or electric power for machines and must be available in Europe. Future Farming‘s expertise has been enlisted for this category, and as such, Future Farming supports this prestigious award by participating in the jury.

Announcement of Winners

The winners of TOTY 2025 will be announced on November 6, 2024, at the opening day of the Eima agricultural machinery exhibition in Bologna, Italy. Visitors will have the opportunity to view the finalists in an outdoor area during the event.

The TOTYBot of the Year Award, supported by Future Farming, highlights the growing importance of autonomous technology in agriculture. These innovations promise to revolutionize farming practices, making them more efficient and sustainable. The anticipation builds as the agricultural community awaits the announcement of the winners at Eima in November.
