Fendt extends auto-steering to smaller tractor ranges

Farmers driving smaller Fendt tractors can have the benefits of a factory-installed auto-steering system now that the firm’s VarioGuide has been extended to the 300 and 500 Vario ranges.

VarioGuide is available with ProfiPlus variants of the 110-138hp 300 Vario series and PowerPlus or better-equipped versions of the 125-165hp mid-range 500 Vario. It is also a new option on 145-240hp 700 Vario tractors to the PowerPlus specification – a lower level than previously.

It is already available across the board on more powerful models from the 220hp 822 Vario to the 500hp Fendt 1050 Vario.

Buyers have a choice of the entry-level NovAtel receiver, which is available with the Egnos/Waas, RTK by radio and Ntrip correction services, as well as the new 4cm and 40cm satellite correction services from Scotland-based TerraStar.

The Trimble AG-382 receiver option also supports subscription services, such as Trimble’s RangePoint RTX 15cm pass-to-pass accuracy and CenterPoint RTX 4cm, with xFill providing up to 20 minutes of projected fill-in guidance.

VarioGuide can work at 20cm to 2cm accuracy, says Fendt, and functions through the touch and key-operated Varioterminal 10.4-B, which in addition to controlling Isobus-capable implements, also features VariotronicTI headland management set-up, 2 camera ports, a documentation system (VarioDoc) and data transfer by Bluetooth.

The display can be shown in full screen mode, as 2 images on a divided screen, or in 4 individual images.
