AGCO takes Fendt to the Brazilian market

AGCO launched the award-winning Fendt 1000 Vario in Brazil and adds Solinftec to its Farm Solutions.

AGCO brings Germany’s Fendt to Brazil, betting on technology to boost productivity in the field. Fendt arrives in the country with an investment of € 35 million, 3 product lines and a division located in the municipality of Sorriso, Mato Grosso.

The operation was installed in the central region of the country taking into account the demands made by farmers. “The Brazilian farmers want the plant as nearby as possible, in order to have te best technical assistance and parts availability,” says José Galli, Fendt’s business director in South America.

Fendt tractors and equipment will be imported directly from Germany. The Mato Grosso division will serve as a business model, which is later be expanded to other locations in the country.

In Brazil, in 2019, the tractors of the Fendt 1000 Vario line will be sold under the Fendt 1050 Vario version with 517 hp. The 1000 tractor is equipped with a 12.4-litre MAN engine, which delivers its maximum torque between 1.100 and 1.500 rpm. “This assembly makes the Fendt 1000 Vario the most efficient and versatile high-power tractor, always operating with the highest engine power available at the lowest rpm. It’s a 500-hp tractor with the fuel consumption of a 400-hp”, said José Galli.

CVT

The continuously variable transmission (CVT) operates separately on the front and rear axles, which makes the Fendt 1000 Vario “the smoothest line of tractors ever sold in Brazil,” according to the manufacturer.

Solinftec added to Farm Solutions

AGCO also announced the addition of Solinftec to its agronomic solutions package called Farm Solutions. The announcement builds on the recent launch of Farm Solutions in South America, which included new partners Tecgraf and InCeres. The expanding product and service package is a direct result of AGCO’s Fuse open strategy, bringing solutions to the market that can be integrated with other technologies and partners.

“InCeres, Tecgraf and Solinftec each add knowledge and experience in solutions designed to provide control, efficiency and consistency at each stage of the crop cycle. These partnerships focus on improving the performance and precision of the specified crops, with data analysis for controlled traffic planning, sustainable soil management solutions and management of connected operations on a single platform, using the data collected to improve efficiency of the operation. The Farm Solutions offerings enhance the benefits of AGCO technologies such as the Auto-Guide 3000, Fieldstar II yield monitor, and variable-rate seed and fertiliser application control systems,” says AGCO.
