A new ‘entry level’ touch screen terminal from Topcon provides visual steering guidance and isobus implement control as standard. It enables users to unlock optional add-on functions as and when they want them.
The new console is being introduced in markets within Europe and the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and Latin America. Like other terminals in Topcon’s X series, the new X23 runs the company’s Horizon icon-based operating system, which allows users to create individual display layouts and screens.
The 8.4in touch display is said to be bright enough to be viewed in direct sunlight and Topcon claims the X23 is easily set-up for all makes of tractors, sprayers and combine harvesters. It can be used as a standalone precision farming instrument or as a second display for applications where 2 consoles are needed in the cab.
Isobus data communications between tractors and implements can be exploited using the X23, which also means it can readily be transferred between Isobus-equipped vehicles and equipment. This feature, together with lightbar visual guidance, comes as standard. Users can also pay an access fee to unlock hands-free auto steering guidance and applicator control with ‘as-applied’ graphics and data records.
Auto section control with up to 10 segments for sprayers and spreaders is also available, along with variable rate application of seed, sprays and fertilisers using prescription maps.
List prices start at £1,725 in the UK.
