Fritzmeier Umwelttechnik markets its ISARIA sensor-based products through a sales venture with CNH Industrial.
Fritzmeier Umwelttechnik GmbH & Co. KG has significantly stepped up its plant sensor sales activities this year. Since the start of the year, the company has also been marketing its ISARIA sensor-based products through a cooperative sales venture with the CNH Industrial Group and its brands Steyr, New Holland and Case IH.
The Fritzmeier sensors add an additional element to the AGXTEND brand for precision farming solutions. The cooperation encompasses the whole of Europe as well as Africa and the markets of the Middle East.
“Our plant sensors are a practically perfect match for the AGXTEND product range,” says Ursula Fritzmeier, managing director of Fritzmeier Umwelttechnik.
The CropXplorer plant sensors are high-precision optical devices designed for attaching to the tractor in pairs. They simultaneously measure the crop’s biomass and nitrogen uptake while the tractor crosses the field.

Appropriate parameters are applied, giving consideration to the strategy adopted by the farmer and the stage of growth. The required nitrogen application rates can be determined immediately depending on the measured values, for instance, and trigger the application of exact doses from a fertiliser spreader or crop protection sprayer when the data are transmitted using the ISOBUS communication protocol or a serial link. Growth regulators can likewise be applied to specific parts of a field.
When the sensors are active, calibration is not generally necessary – a single calibration pass may be required, depending on the fertiliser system. No other action, such as taking manual measurements with a nitrogen tester, has to be taken.
In addition, detailed logs can be produced to record the adopted measures and the georeferenced amounts of fertiliser and crop protection products that are applied.
According to Maximilian Birle, who is responsible for establishing the AGXTEND brand at CNH Industrial, “We are currently bringing together the technologies and solutions of our strategic partners in the precision farming segment under the AGXTEND umbrella. Our aim is to take AGXTEND well beyond precision guidance and transform it into a highly efficient management tool.”
