The company says that no field is the same and most fields contain a variety of soil types. Which is a big challenge for farmers to grow a uniform crop and realise optimum yields. As the sowing depth differs in varying field conditions, it has its effect on the emergence of the seeds. SureForce was developed to help farmers realise an equal emergence of the seeds regardless of the variation in soil types and field conditions.

New SureForce system

Ag Leader already had a hydraulic downforce system called Down Force on offer that only provided down pressure. The new SureForce system provides both down pressure and uplift. Another difference is the an increase in down pressure for tougher conditions (now 295 kg). The weight on the gauge wheels of every row is sensed 200 times per second. This force is automatically adjusted up or down to maintain consistent depth. It also has a more compact design and will be more easily compatible with a wider range of planters.

SureForce is already available to order from a local Ag Leader dealer and will be shipped as of November. The approximate cost not including a display or GNSS receiver for an 8 row planter are $ 3,000 per row. This includes all brackets, hydraulic hoses and fittings. But this will vary by planter and options that are needed/chosen.
