Available in two versions (narrow and large), this robot helps growers while reducing soil compaction. According to Naïo, ORIO is able to take care of crops from sowing to harvesting. The robot has been designed for large-scale vegetable and crop growers. Many crops can be sown and weeded with ORIO, including young trees in tree nurseries. ORIO’s high-precision premium tools are placed as close to the crop as possible, with great accuracy generated by RTK GPS auto guidance and camera guidance. ORIO is sold with a 5-year warranty.

Characteristics

Adjustable track width goes from 150 cm to 175 cm on ORIO Narrow and 180 cm to 215 cm on ORIO Large. The robot has a capacity of 9 ha per day. ORIO can carry 700 kg of tools. It can drive up to 5,6 km per hour with augmented autonomy mode. Users can monitor the robot work with a smartphone app, Naïo Companion.

Navigation system

Orio is guided by GNSS and RTK via a cellular network provided from a local supplier. To bridge GNSS outages, a compass is mounted to ensure accurate guidance. Mapping can be achieved if the receiver is mounted on the seeder or planter to record passes. This information can be shared afterwards with the dealer or the Naïo team to create a map that can be uploaded via USB to the robot or through a network. Obstacles are detected by the LiDAR sensor in the front and on the sides in addition with the bumpers in front of each wheel.
