Description

Icaro X4 is the world’s first hybrid robot designed to control fungal diseases without the use of chemicals. Equipped with specialized UVC lamps, it continuously prevents the reproduction of fungi like downy and powdery mildew, operating 24/7 with a diesel engine that recharges the battery while in use. Thanks to RTK precision, Icaro X4 can function autonomously, even without a satellite signal, utilizing a 3D vision system to stay within the designated corridor. In the event of rain, IcaroX4 can be called back to its base; otherwise, it pauses operation with the lamps off and resumes once the storm clears.

Drive train type

Each wheel is powered by a three-phase brushless motor, delivering a total peak power of 13 kW (4,000 Nm). All wheels feature 180° steering, enabling the Icaro X4 to rotate on its own.

Characteristics

Icaro X4 can be fitted with a rear lift capable of supporting up to 450 kg, allowing for the installation of a specialised lawn mower, which expands to a width of 2,400 mm. With a compact design, Icaro X4 can operate in rows as narrow as 1,800 mm, while its lamps extend to a height of 2,700 mm.

Navigation system

Icaro X4 is equipped with a navigation system based on a proprietary GNSS RTK system and a 3D vision system featuring TOF cameras. Before deployment, the field is mapped, with obstacles, preferred corridors, start-stop positions, and refuelling points all georeferenced. The robot also includes cameras on all four sides, providing a 360° view and utilising AI to detect people and animals. The scheduling of operations is managed by a weather station that monitors field conditions. Using an algorithm, it determines the optimal time for Icaro X4 to begin treatment. All navigation data is securely stored on servers and can be accessed at any time.
