Description
The solar battery-powered FarmDroid FD20 performs fully automatic seeding and weeding of various crops between rows and in the rows (intra-row). From the seeding process the FD20 knows the position of every seed and therefore knows where it must weed and where not to weed. The farmer sets the corner points of the field, creating a geofence for the robot to work within. After setting the number of headlands passes and the direction of the rows, the robot runs on RTK GPS from a base station. The robot does not rely on cameras. Solar panels ensure a CO2-neutral operation. The FD20 never needs charging.
FarmDroid recently has introduced a spot-application system for its FD20 robot. Originally, the FarmDroid FD20 was developed for organic farmers. FarmDroid now also offers growers a dual front wheel system, called DFW. Farmers will get a FarmDroid FD20 robot with 4 wheels, when they choose this system. With the DFW, they can get add an extra row. FarmDroid also introduced an active front wheel system, called AFW. With AFW, farmers get a FarmDroid FD20 robot with an active front wheel. It is designed to work in hilly and rugged terrains. Both systems can also be added to an existing robot.

Characteristics
The FarmDroid FD20 is equipped with a high precision seeding system, as well as interrow and intra-row weeding tools, all in one package.
Navigation system
The robot creates a geofence to work within, based on the corner points and obstacles from the field setup. A safety-wire surrounds the robot, and when triggered, the robot will stop and send a message. It must then be reset manually. It can work 24 hours a day and does not need daylight to operate.
