The French machinery manufacturer Kuhn will showcase its first machines for mechanical weed control at the Agritechnica trade fair. Initially, these will include the Rowliner hoeing machine and Tineliner harrow. A third series is expected in 2025.

Kuhn is venturing into the realm of mechanical weed control, specifically designed for farmers who wish to use fewer pesticides. The manufacturer is set to produce hoeing machines and harrows. Initially, this will involve the Kuhn Rowliner, a 6- to 12-row hoeing machine with camera control.

Additionally, the manufacturer will supply the Tineliner harrow in working widths ranging from 6 to 12 meters. The Kuhn Starliner rotary hoeing machine is expected to be available in 2025.

In-house production or outsourcing?

It is likely that Kuhn has already conducted secret trials of these hoes and harrows. The manufacturer could not afford to lag behind, given that companies like Amazone, Pöttinger, Vӓderstad, Lemken, and Fliegl are also offering hoeing machines and harrows.

It is not yet clear whether the Rowliner and Tineliner are being developed in-house or if production will be outsourced. We are likely to learn more at the Agritechnica trade fair, taking place from November 12 to 18 in Hannover, Germany.
