The RollHacke spoon weeder controls full-field weeds, but also breaks up compacted soil or crusts so that crops can germinate. The superficial treatment ensures that you only work the top soil layer, so that extra oxygen ends up in the soil. According to Fliegl, the spoon weeder does not disturb deeper rooted crops. Those crops actually benefit from extra oxygen.
