FreshCloud Harvest View to extend harvest window, improve fruit quality and optimise labor management.
AgroFresh Solutions, Inc. announced the launch of FreshCloud Harvest View, an advanced digital service that equips customers with on-time information to optimise harvest management and achieve enhanced fruit quality and yield.
FreshCloud Harvest View is a digital service that complements AgroFresh’s proprietary Harvista 1.3 SC technology, a near-harvest solution that provides flexibility to extend the harvest window, improve fruit quality and optimise labor management at harvest.
AgroFresh Solutions says FreshCloud Harvest View captures, organises and presents fast and easy-to-access data insights on starch hydrolysis progression. Growers can make timely decisions on when to apply Harvista, which is key to maximise quality and yields. This can translate into higher profit potential.

In practice, a member of the AgroFresh service organisation conducts in-field starch testing. Starch images are immediately uploaded to FreshCloud Harvest View and reviewed by AgroFresh technical experts.
AgroFresh Solutions says growers gain easy, on-demand, digital access to make data-driven decisions. “The data offer improved visibility and insight about starch progression and the maturation process down to a block level within orchards. Working together with AgroFresh, growers can decide how to best plan their harvest, and when to apply Harvista 1.3 SC to optimise quality and yield.”
Continuing the innovation, FreshCloud Harvest View will soon incorporate an intelligent starch scoring feature.

AgroFresh’s grower customers who currently use Harvista can access FreshCloud Harvest View at no additional cost this year. Growers do not need to purchase any additional hardware of software, says AgroFresh Solutions.
For the 2020 season, AgroFresh-dedicated teams will guide customers on leveraging this new service, which will be accessible from their preferred mobile device or computer.
“In order for our customers to deliver the best tasting and freshest fruit, they need new tools to measure and manage quality parameters starting in the orchard. That’s why we have developed FreshCloud Harvest View and are integrating our science-backed agricultural expertise with machine learning,” said AgroFresh’s Global Head of FreshCloud Infrastructure and Analytics, Kim Bui.
“FreshCloud Harvest View equips our customers with data-driven insights that unlock a deeper understanding of fruit maturity and storage potential during harvest, which ultimately leads to more precise and sophisticated decision-making.”
