Topcon Agriculture closed a deal with Raven Industries to use the latter’s Slingshot-technology. Topcon’s systems can now streamline their data exchange with Raven-equipment.

Slingshot is a so called Application Programming Interface (API). In short, it’s a bridge between software from one source and software from another source. The job of Slingshot is that software from both systems communicate flawlessly.

Topcon will incorporate Slingshot in it’s Topcon Agriculture Platform, TAP in short. TAP is a collection of cloud-based services that allow for example a Topcon user (of say a steering aid) to send tractor or machine data wireless to the cloud, and further onwards to the office. Or send a task card from a home based computer to the tractor in the field.

The agreement gives Raven-users (of for example sprayer technology) access to Topcon’s TAP services. Alternatively Topcon equipment may become an interesting option for Raven users.
