Integration of drone-captured imagery with crop records and data sharing with CNH Industrial equipment brands. That is the result of the latest partnerships secured by The Climate Corporation for its FieldView enterprise management platform.

The agreement with DroneDeploy, which offers an online platform for automating DJI drone mapping flights and creating imagery maps will enable FieldView users to merge aerial data from drones, satellites and manned aircraft on to a single platform, and to access data captured using DroneDeploy from within FieldView.

Combine satellite and drone imagery

“Traditionally, it has been difficult for growers to combine satellite and drone imagery in one place, making it challenging to manage and analyse crop data effectively,” says Nicolas Guerra-Mondragon, business development manager at DroneDeploy.

“We believe this partnership with The Climate Corporation will provide retail partners with the tools they need to combine Climate FieldView satellite, as-applied and weather data with DroneDeploy drone data so they can better serve their farmer customers.”

2-way data connectivity

In a separate development, Case IH and New Holland Agriculture will provide 2-way data connectivity between FieldView and their AFS and PLM Connect precision farming platforms. This will result in unique functionality for Case IH and New Holland equipment users, say the partners, because of the depth and breadth of real-time machine and field data, including agronomic prescriptions, which can be both received and transmitted.

Customer opt-in data sharing opportunity

David Larson, head of precision solutions and telematics systems at CNH Industrial, says the agreement covers a customer opt-in data sharing opportunity with one of the highest levels of integration and interaction in agriculture. He also anticipates additional tools to enable Case IH and New Holland dealers offering Climate FieldView to proactively support customers through sharing of real-time machine information that will flag up issues.

Larson added that farmers using FieldView provided by Case IH and New Holland dealers can look forward to additional features within their Climate FieldView Cab application throughout the course of 2018.
